"Some 500 monks are facing in this moment arbitrary detention as Chinese governement locked them since the 15th March 2013 in Tonkyab monastery in Tibetan town Golok Gabde for interrogation, intimidation and "re-education". Arbitrary detention concernes even monks that done nothing at all and even if there is no possible charges against them. Telephone and internet lines with all the region of Golok are blocked since the 1st March 2013. Nobody can call to Tonkyab monastery, even in local call.
This repression is following the arrest of Tritsen, the monk from Tonkyab monastery who wrote the book "Breath of Truth". He was arrested on 11th March 2013, the day after official election of new Chinese governement.
We ask you to stop this arbitrary detention of inocent people in Golok region.
We hope you will start your reforms towards the state of law by giving the amnesty to all 1000 political prisoners deteined in this moment in Tibet, most of them with no legal charges."
Golok hero, Nyima Woeser, Master of Discipline from Tongkyab monastery in Gabde, Golok was arrested on the 11th August 2007 as the leader of more than 2000 people from Gabde who demonstrated to preserve their religion. Nyima Woeser was released from prison in Xiling on the 15th November 2012.
